"510" Pine Dining Chair Set by Göran Malmvall for Karl Andersson & Söner, 1940s
Open here
This elegant set of four Model 510 dining chairs was designed in the 1940s by Göran Malmvall for the esteemed Swedish manufacturer Karl Andersson & Söner. A celebrated example of Swedish functionalist design, the chairs are crafted from richly stained solid pine, showcasing Malmvall’s signature blend of simplicity, sturdiness, and natural material expression.
Each chair features a beautifully curved backrest and a subtly contoured seat that rests on tapered legs—an ergonomic and architectural form that captures the essence of early Scandinavian modernism. The deep tone and visible grain of the pine enhance the rustic yet refined character of the design, making the set ideal for both contemporary and traditional interiors.
