Ceramic Table Lamp by Toini Muona for Arabia, Finland, 1950s

This ceramic table lamp features a tall, organic form glazed in deep forest green. The surface is decorated with small, hand-applied circular motifs that add a quiet graphic rhythm to the piece. The glaze shifts subtly in tone, giving the structure a soft gradient effect typical of Arabia’s mid-century ceramic work. The lamp comes with a pleated shade that complements the expressive silhouette of the base.

Designed by Toini Muona and produced by Arabia in the 1950s, this piece reflects the studio’s modernist approach to functional ceramics. Muona, a key figure in Arabia’s art department, worked with sculptural forms and experimental glazes, bringing a refined yet distinctly Nordic character to her designs. Lamps from this period were produced in smaller quantities than Arabia’s tableware, making surviving examples less common.

This is a one-of-a-kind accent lamp that adds warm atmosphere and a sense of Nordic heritage to any room. Its soft form and rich glaze pair well with both modernist and eclectic interiors, bringing depth and character without overwhelming a space.
