An original “Crinolette” armchair designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara in 1962 and produced by Asko, Finland during the 1960s. One of Tapiovaara’s most iconic and sculptural designs, the Crinolette is celebrated for its elegant spindle-back silhouette and beautifully balanced proportions, combining playful form with exceptional comfort.
Crafted from solid birch, this example has been refinished in light grey, highlighting the chair’s striking architectural lines while giving it a fresh and modern appearance. A timeless piece that works equally well as a lounge chair, accent chair, or sculptural statement piece.
In good vintage condition with minor wear and small chips to the finish consistent with age and use, most notably to the armrest edges as shown in the photos.
