Kai Kristiansen (b. 1929) was one of the central figures of Danish modern design, known for his refined craftsmanship and versatile furniture pieces. Educated under Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Kristiansen established his own workshop in 1955 and later collaborated with manufacturers such as Feldballes Møbelfabrik. His furniture often reflects a balance of clarity and flexibility, using fine woods such as teak and rosewood. This extendable table reflects those values — understated, functional, and enduring.
