Finnish Functionalist Oval Pedestal Table in Birch, 1940s
Open here
Elegant Finnish Functionalist pedestal table crafted in birch during the 1940s. The table features a generously proportioned oval top with beautifully figured birch veneer, supported by a sturdy central pedestal and stepped square base. Distinctive dark geometric inlay details around the pedestal add a subtle decorative accent while maintaining the clean, restrained lines characteristic of Nordic Functionalist design.
Compact in scale yet visually substantial, the table works beautifully as a breakfast table, center table, or decorative occasional table. The warm honey-toned birch showcases a beautifully figured veneer, while the geometric inlay details provide a subtle decorative contrast to the clean architectural form.
