A refined and architecturally balanced two-tier club table designed by Maija Heikinheimo for Asko in the 1930s. This early Finnish modernist piece combines geometric clarity with beautiful material expression, typical of Asko’s forward-looking production of the period.

The table features a round tabletop in book-matched birch veneer, arranged in a striking four-way radial pattern that highlights the lively grain. The lower tier is similarly veneered, offering both visual harmony and practical storage or display surface. The structure is supported by a sculptural black-lacquered wooden frame, forming a graphic cross-shaped base that contrasts elegantly with the warm-toned birch.

A characteristic example of pre-war Finnish functionalism, blending simplicity, craftsmanship, and expressive use of wood.

Measurements:
Diameter: 70 cm (27.6”)
Height: 57 cm (22.4”)

Condition:
Good vintage condition with light age-related wear. The birch veneer surfaces show a warm, even patina and subtle marks consistent with age. The black-lacquered frame presents minor wear to the finish.
