The freestanding cabinet has a rectangular form with two vertical sections, each fitted with adjustable shelves. Raised on tapered solid oak legs, the piece achieves both lightness and structural stability. The warm tone of the oak veneer is consistent throughout, emphasising the material’s natural grain.

Børge Mogensen was one of Denmark’s leading functionalist designers, known for his straightforward, honest approach to furniture. His shelving and storage designs were conceived as modular systems that could adapt to changing needs, reflecting the modernist ambition of creating democratic, long-lasting furniture for everyday life. ABOUT THE DESIGNER – BØRGE MOGENSEN
Børge Mogensen (1914–1972) was one of Denmark’s most influential furniture designers. Trained as a cabinetmaker and architect, he became a leading voice in the Danish modern movement, creating functional furniture that balanced simplicity, craftsmanship, and affordability. Mogensen worked for FDB Møbler and later for his own studio, producing designs that remain cornerstones of Scandinavian modernism. His shelving and storage systems, particularly in oak, embody his belief that good design should be accessible, adaptable, and timeless.
