Pendant Model K3-44 in Glass, Wood Slat & Brass by Paavo Tynell for Idman, 1950s

An atmospheric pendant lamp designed by Paavo Tynell for Idman in Finland during the 1950s. Model K3-44 combines an opal glass diffuser with a wide circular shade constructed from finely arranged wooden slats, complemented by brass details at the top. The layered construction creates a strong horizontal presence, while the natural wood introduces warmth and a clear graphic rhythm. Brass elements add a restrained decorative note and anchor the composition.

The design reflects Tynell’s characteristic balance of function and material sensitivity.
