Rare Brass & Aluminum Ceiling Light Model AA114 by Itsu, Finland, 1950s

A striking mid-century ceiling light produced by Itsu in Finland during the 1950s. Model AA114 is one of the manufacturer’s more distinctive designs, marked by its dramatic flared center cone and wide, shallow reflector. The composition creates a refined combination of direct and indirect illumination: the large upper dish diffuses a warm ambient glow, while the brass-tipped lower cone provides a focused beam of light beneath.

Crafted from lacquered aluminum and brass, the lamp reflects the careful material sensibility of Finnish lighting design of the era. Its original two-tone palette — soft grey paired with off-white — emphasizes the sculptural geometry of the piece, while polished brass details add depth and brightness. Suspended from a brass stem and canopy, the fixture has an elegant, architectural presence suitable for dining areas, living rooms, or entry spaces.

A fine and increasingly uncommon example of Finnish mid-century lighting.
