Rare Model 3024 Pendant Light in Oxidised Steel by Paavo Tynell, Taito Oy, 1940s
An original Finnish pendant light with an oxidised steel structure and three opaline glass shades. The composition is structured and graphic, built around a central cylindrical form with three horizontal arms, each carrying a shallow glass bowl. The balance between the darkened metal surfaces and softly diffusing glass gives the lamp a calm but expressive presence. One of the glass shades retains its original Karhula Glassworks sticker, providing a clear material reference. The use of oxidised steel and this specific surface finish is considered uncommon within Tynell’s production.
Well suited as a central ceiling light in a dining room, living space, or entry hall. The lamp provides an even, ambient light while adding depth and character to the room.
