A solid pine bench from Carl Malmsten’s ‘Visingsö’ series, produced by Svensk Fur in Sweden during the 1950’s. The design is defined by its rectangular seat with softened edges and visible round plug joinery, supported by splayed, tapered legs. The natural tone of the pine highlights its grain, giving the piece a warm and honest character.

The ‘Visingsö’ series reflects Malmsten’s deep connection to Swedish folk traditions, interpreted through a mid-century lens. Known for his dedication to craftsmanship, natural materials and proportion, Malmsten’s work bridged rural heritage and modern living. Solid pine was a deliberate choice — abundant, sustainable and capable of developing a rich patina over time.

Compact and versatile, this bench works as a seat, low table or hallway piece. Its light, moveable form makes it easy to place in different contexts, while the solid pine ensures decades of durability.
